Description of item for sale. Special note : this item is in our warehouse in Belgium. This complete interior from a pharmacy is from Ghent, Belgium and it dates to 1896. Note the provenance that was documented in a book published in 1994.The original shop was VanderLinden. VanderLinden went out of business in 1948 when another pharmacist bought the interior cabinets and moved them to his shop at Annonciadenstraat 21 in Ghent. They remained at that address until the business closed in 2018. The lead photo as well as photo #12 show the pharmacy as it was installed in the newer shop. The black & white photo (#11) shows it in the original shop.
The rest of the photos were taken during deconstruction or in our warehouse. The 3 large wall units and the counter cabinet were from the front room of the pharmacy. They are all made from mahogany. The counter you see in the listings color photo has small display cases that go on top of it.
You can see them in place in the old black & white photo of the shop. The smaller wall units are from a back room. They are more utilitarian and made from pine. The entire collection is in very good antique condition with minor wear, nicks and scratches as would be expected from over 120 years of commercial use. The tall cabinets are all 10 1 tall.
The cabinet with the clock & deer crests is 11 10 wide. It is 13 deep at the sides and 16 deep in the center. The two other large cabinets are 8 10 wide and 10 5 wide. The counter is 6 4 wide, 2 7 deep and 3 5 high not including the top cases. The top cases add 22 of height.
