C1890 FOLKY COUNTRY STORE DISPLAY CASE, ORIGINAL DRY SURFACE WALNUT PINE & GLASS. Circa 1890 country store display case. Saw original use as a hanging cupboard but later used flat on a counter. Walnut wood door and trim with construction using a combination of both square and wire nails. Sides and back are pine.

Original, dry surface and patina. Nails heads have surface rust and oxidized the wood around the nails. Backboard is a single 13-3/4 pine board which has vertical splits from years of age shrinkage. The door frame and top trim have slightly champhered outer edges as an extra touch.

The inside has recently been lined with a clean piece of 19th century homespun fabric. Condition: the door hangs slightly downward on the right side from hears of being used as a hanging cupboard.
