#884 and #888 TWO FOR ONE DISPLAY / STORAGE CHESTS FOR FOUNTAIN PENS

1940's or 50's. My goal, with the start of every chest, is to make it look as close to perfect as possible.

You should not be able to see a repair if there is one. Every once in a while, I get a case that can be repaired, but the repair can be seen. I recently kept four of these and finished the rebuild. The majority of the repairs would not be noticed by most people unless they were told to look for them. I install the same custom built-by-hand interiors that I put in all my chests.

I circled the areas of repair in the photos. These cases are #884 and #888. #884 does not close all the way. Cannot be seen when the case is open. #888 has a 1/16 or less gap on the right side. Most people would not notice this. If the top weighed a few ounces more it would close completely. If your collection includes vintage or antique pens, these would be perfect. This does not come off an assembly line. This beautifully finished attractive piece of furniture would be a handsome addition to any Office, Den, Living Room, Study, etc.

And would make a great gift for your favorite collector. I could not find a quality, attractive and functional pen chest at an affordable price so I make my own. Most of my cases are made from 30 to 100-year-old vintage and antique silverware storage chests. My goal is to offer some of the best cases available. I do that by controlling every step of the rebuilding process and doing all the work by hand.
